Frank Challenge: Manhunter (1974)

 aka "The Brass Ring"

MANHUNTER (1974) aka "The Brass Ring"

DeTomaso Appearance

The yellow Pantera that was in "Challenge" was also in the sequel called "Frank Challenge: Manhunter." There was actually a scene (edited from the film) where the Pantera has an oil-slick device that is used in a chase scene. When the car was sold, the new owner drove proudly away with the oil-slick pipes still sticking out of the back of the car.

"I worked for Earl Owensby from 1975 - 1986. Earl owned five Panteras over that period of time, which is where my attraction to the cars began. One of the cars was accidentally wrecked in one of the films and, after months in the shop I was lucky enough to pick it up and make the fifty mile trip back to our studio with it. The yellow Pantera that was in Challenge was also in a sequel called 'The Brass Ring' or 'Frank Challenge - Manhunter'."
