Recessed Headlight Conversion

 by Goran Malmberg

Description

The headlight bucket is made from 0,05" sheet aluminum. The best way to tackle the layout is to make a mallet from cartoon paper. The lamp itself is about 4" height, but 3-3/4" is better. I had a couple of these in my former Pantera but don't remember the make. 1/2 beam is no problem with 4" since it reflects in the top of the lamp parabola. But 1/1 beam is shaded a little down low, or in the front of the car on the road.

Myself I don't mind, as long as the men in blue don't give me a ticket. Its not a night transportation car.

The whole bucket is hanging on its sides in the "frog holes". There is an aluminum 90 degree bar at the very front of the bucket that holds it down in place, locked with two screws. Everything is covered with a sheet of Plexiglas. The glass could have a painted black 1/2 inch wide frame from the inside. Hiding the mount "hanging".
