Radiator Hose Replacement
Well, after having two different coolant hoses
begin leaking, one several months after the other, I decided it was time to
change them all and avoid chasing them one at a time every few months. It
also helped that that the driver's side radiator tank seam between the
radiator core began leaking too. So, the radiator had to come out.

I wanted to make sure I wouldn't have to
revisit this job again anytime soon, so I selected the best parts available.
The Gates Greenstripe Hose is well-known throughout the Pantera community as
the best hose available for the Pantera. I also wanted a high quality
stainless steel hose clamp to ensure a tight seal. And, I wanted to
eliminate the need to double-clamp the hose connections if possible.
After much searching, both online and at my
local auto parts stores, I determined that the Breeze Hi-Torque hose clamps
would be the best candidates for my application. They're specifically
designed to be used where double clamping is the norm. They're 100% US made
and
use 300 series stainless steel in the band, which is substantially wider
and thicker than almost all industrial grade clamps. The heavy-gauge housing
is orbitally riveted to a unique saddle, engineered so that eight screw
threads are simultaneously engaged in the band, and the 5/16" hex screw is
made of 410 grade stainless steel. This is the highest torque rated
worm-drive clamp available in the world!* It's specifically designed
for applications where conventional clamps are inadequate or where double
and triple clamping is needed.
* 200 in lbs of torque on the screw.
